After looking at it, I expect to be disappointed.Hasbro Family Game Night 4: The Game Showĭescription:Hasbro Family Game Night 4: The Game Show is a Board / Word video game developed and published by Electronic Arts and released in 2011 for Nintendo Wii. I must say, I am curious, but not really excited or hopeful. Will there be a duplicate version of the software branded "Cluedo" with all the graphics changed for international markets? Or will the "Clue" brand be shoved down the collective overseas' throats. I do also wonder if this will be the death of the Cluedo brand. Might Clue offer the same features? Then again it is a stand-alone application where as Clue is bundled with 4 others. One hopeful thought, the Monopoly edition allows you to use the basic original board game design, or the newer boards, themes, and rules. Curious if they use the same characters, or merely silhouettes, with custom player options like other Wii games.ĮDIT THere is a similar announcement about a 3-D Monopoly game, so one can only hope they've taken the same 3D approach to Clue – but do we really want an ultra-modern 3D Hollywood Hills house with a guest house and screening room? But will it be a simple board representation a la the Monopoly Board, or will it be a 3-D house you can navigate? That might make it worthwhile, even if it's the sad Reinvention Hollywood Hills house. Since the graphic appears to be Reinvention, I dread that artwork. "When you first place your ships in the beginning of the game it says for the other person to "close their eyes." This is the only time you see where you place your ships."ĮDIT Also, Monopoly, and other games evidently only allow you to play with 2 or 4 real player games, with the computer taking over any unassigned players. Anybody?ĮDIT I found this regarding Battleship, and I must say it does not fill me with confidence. anybody got a clue how you would do that on a single display? Special glasses for each player? Make your opponents leave the room before looking at your hand? Solo or multi-layer networked games only? Then again: they have Battleship, which I believe is a two-player game and requires secrecy of each players details so, there must be some logical way to do this. Considering Monopoly is the most like Clue in terms of game play, I must really worry.Īlso, how exactly would Clue work as a multi-player game on Wii? I mean you have to keep your cards secret from the other players. There have been so many good electronic editions of Monopoly, yet it receives overall extremely low marks. Most surprising of all is the stand-alone version of Monopoly (which Clue did not obviously rate). Looking at the previous Hasbro Game Night reviews on Amazon, they are pretty mixed for the first one, and overall low for the second. I don't know that much about board games on wii, in fact what I do know about the interface, I have to ask, has anyone here ever played a board game on wii?
